Almighty ALLAH is the Creator of this entire universe. All kind of imaginable or unimaginable, known or unknown virtues belong to Him. This world is a reflection of His supreme being. He is the Creator, the only Master of all the glories, splendors and grandeurs. Asma Ul Husna describe the attributes and traits of ALLAH Almighty. To learn Asma Ul Husna is much like learning about ALLAH. Knowing Him increases a believer in his/her faith. For that matter one needs to memorize those sacred names along with complete understanding of their meanings. The most beautiful names of ALLAH reflect His endless powers, beneficence, glory, mercy and wrath; which makes a believer love His Creator as well as fear His disapproval.

Allah says in the Quran:
And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them.. (Quran 7:180)
Allah – there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names. (Quran 20:8)
He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. (Quran 59:24)

Our beloved Prophet (SAW) said the following about the Asmaul Husna: “Allah has 99 names. Whoever memorizes and embraces (ihsa) these qualities will enter heaven” (Bukhari). Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: There are ninety-nine names of Allah; he who commits them to memory would get into Paradise. Verily, Allah is Odd (He is one, and it is an odd number) and He loves odd number.”(Sahih Muslim Book-48 Hadith-5)

The verse of Holy Quran regarding that is: “The most beautiful names belong to Allah: so call on Him by them; but shun such men as use profanity in His names: for what they do, they will soon be requited” (Surah al-Araf, verse 180). The above verse warns us that attaching meanings that are not right to the Creator and comparing other things with Allah Almighty or giving attributes which describe His names to anything other than Him is seen as “going down the wrong path with regard to the Asmaul Husna.” On the other hand, calling upon ALLAH and seeking His mercy though His beautiful names surely invokes His blessings.
